So, I read over my blogs here and realize; I love to bitch! That is all that seems to burst forth from my fingers so I got to thinking that if all I can do is complain and bitch it must lead one to wonder why I “love” blogster.
So let’s start at the beginning. I joined to pimp myself, no denying that but like anything places change and the adult option was taken away. Now lets talk about that for a second. I never intended to write dirty stories beyond what my most interesting and or latest calls were about and still intend to do that because that is why people started reading this blog, the wanted an insiders view of phone sex especially those who are not privy to the information, namely women. I still think I can write about these things because they are not pornographic in nature but I do still wish there was an adult side or a feature we could use to put up an adult warning and know we functioning with in the boundaries of the TOS. I would never ever post really nasty stories or naked pictures because I sell those and I give nothing away for free.
So when I went to post and put it in the adult category and the category was gone after much soul searching I decided to stay anyway because blogster has brought me a few calls but mostly as a work outlet my callers like to come here and read and see a different side of me. In fact I link from my main blog to most all of my blogs in various ways and one customer enjoys having to go to five or more places to, “get the whole story.” He compares it to the Stephan King novels where a main character from one book can be found in minor parts in other books.
That is about as far as my work goes in relation to this particular site. I stay here because I like the people here all of the people and each and every person here adds to the community and I hate to admit it, even Joe adds to the community. Think of him as the red neck racist cousin twice removed that while you hate to admit he is part of your blood like still gives plenty of fodder for spirited discussion and is a poster boy for how you do not want to raise your kiddies. In terms of this if he is your second cousin twice removed then he too has a nuclear family that probably relates to him.
Blogster offers something that the big blog-sites do not and that is a sense of community. I have blogs on all of those sites, I think, and when I say I have a dozen or more blogs, I am not including those in the number. When you go places like my space, blogger, live journal and the like you seem to get lost in the fold. You tend to have people you already know visiting your blog as opposed to strangers, you have to work to get the strangers to look at your blog then you also have to worry about weather or not you friends will approve of what you have written instead of enjoying the anonymity (trust me you can go to myspace and make an anonymous blog but the pull is too strong to show people you know). I love the fact that here you have a blogging community you can maintain or anonymity in and not get lost in it.
Another unique aspect of blogster is if you contribute to the community the community contributes to you. This kind of translates in you do not have to work for traffic as you do other places. Here is an example:
The most popular list (using a daily calculation) and the new article list give everyone in the community a chance to see your individual articles. I do wish the list were like it were on the old blogster front page, fifty articles on each(most popular articles and new articles), but it still accomplishes the same thing you are assured EVERYONE logged into the community will see your article and if your title grabs their attention you are certain a hit and then maybe discussion. Everything in this community is geared to give everyone an equal amount of readership the only way you can lose is through your own content.
I do want to say the current blogster improved the way the most popular works by giving EACH blog the opportunity to be seen on its individual merit. What I mean is if I write ten articles in one day all will be seen and all have the opportunity to be on the most popular list should they merit it, it used to be that only your blog title, not your article had that opportunity and then only once. This way is much better.
I like the notifications a lot it used to be that you were only notified if some one commented on your comment not on your article so you had no idea , without going to check it, if you had any comments.
I like the “discussion” format for the comments which has been here as long as I have.
I like the “flashy envelope” for mail I just wish it were more obtrusive as I cannot see it so well being blue one blue.
The basic structure of the community encourages interaction with other bloggers that you do not see on other communities. The site could grow to a million or stay small and still keep the small town feel. I like that.
I also like all the features that put you in control of your own blog private, block, deleting comments. While I would never use these except in extreme circumstances and those for my readers comfort, not my own, I thank goodness they are here for those who need them.
I love the “recent visitors” as well I believe in keep s people on the site longer. I want any feature that will keep people on the site reading blogs longer!
One thing on that that might improve stuff is when you get a web comment if the reply went to the email they entered. I think by getting web drive-bys involved in a discussion might get them to join.
Basically I do like blogster a lot.

Amen. I'm quickly becoming addicted for that very reason :-). I'm almost afraid to see the site grow.

I like it here too! The people are what makes it for me... I don't blog for any other purposes but the online friendships I have made have really helped in terms of support. It was nice to read the positive things that blogster has. We already know the down side!
Thank you for the positive comments, we are working hard to make many more improvements.
