Shut up Stoopid Adult Workers Have No Brains!

May 28, 2007 / by mmmhollywould

Often time’s people find it odd that I work as a phone sex operator and I have found that when discussing moral, religious, political or any matter that requires a bit of brain power many want to discount my intelligence based on my profession.  When they run out of ammunition for their argument or I prove them wrong I always get some lame ass version of “well you're just a dumb whore”.

It seems to be assumed that anyone in the Adult industry must be stupid.  They must have been forced into it or do not have the aptitude to work a “real job”.

This is a very real job and it is a lot of hard work.  I use every bit of my education and then some when performing, right down to Biblical studies.  It is a myth to think I sit back and moan for the men who call me and all that is required is a sexy voice.  If that were the case anyone could do it and there would not be such a high turnover when ladies realize this is not a get rich quick scheme.  It is hard work with years worth of material to learn.

The callers come from every age range and every social back ground you can think of and you have to be able to relate to all of them.  They do not call just to hear me moan, we converse as well.  If you cannot hold an interesting conversation you may as well just hang that phone up.  I have talked about every thing from monster trucks to politics and the stock market. This part of my job is the fun part.  The part I work for during the time I am not on the phone.

I have to work my tail off just to be able to meet the gentlemen.  That requires advertising, web design, coding, creative writing, sending mail, photography, networking; you cannot imagine how much goes into getting that phone to ring just once.

There are women who make more than you could imagine doing this, why?  Because they are doing something they love and working their asses off.

Back to the question: why do I do this or rather how did I come to be a phone sex operator.

Well I went to Kent State because I wanted to teach.  I though I could make a difference in the world and teach prisoners basic skills and perhaps get them past the G.E.D at the very least.  I took psychology because I felt it would be helpful in working with the prisoners and Biblical studies just because I was fascinated by it.

While this sounds good on paper, or on blogster, it is actually a very flawed Idea due to the fact I have some serious character flaws.  Many would see these” flaws” as assets but in some situations they could be very bad.  First, I am submissive, second, I can look right past the bad in a fellow human and see the good shine through and third, I believe every one should get along and that deep down everyone really wants too.  Put that together with working with prisoners and it could be a very bad situation.  I could get killed or bring an axe murderer home to mom and Dad.

I did not see this at first.  It took much convincing from my best friend and fellow submissive as well as some harsh words form mom to put me on the right path.

See some would the think well if you chose to go in the adult industry well then why not go into something more hands on.  Porn actress or an escort.  I refer you back to the above reasons for not teaching in prison.  I would have been the girl who was ripped off and knocked around or worse because I have the street smarts of road kill and I like to be knocked around.  Again bad combo.

Which brings me to leaving Ohio and my beloved Kent State to live in Georgia.

When I came here I had no car.  Well, see, I did have a car but it took me 3 days and 2000.00 bucks to get me and my dog here, Keep in mind it is a twelve hour drive.  I spent a great deal of money fixing this car on the way.  Breaking down and having to walk through places that were reminiscent of deliverance and by the time I got to my mothers I was so pissed off at my car I sold it for junk out of pure unadulterated anger.

I was carless and jobless and living with mom.  I immediately got a job I could walk to so that I could get another car and get the hell out of my mother’s house, that was easy, but then I had my hormones to think about.

I needed sex but after having my heart broken in Ohio I decided I was going to be a lesbian.  It seemed like a good Idea at the time unfortunately women were missing a vital organ I need to have a relationship.

Whoops tangent.  So to meet people I saw commercial for one of those tele-personals dating services on the phone where it is always free for women.  I called with every intention of meeting a woman, unfortunately for the softer sex, that was not to be because in the category “casual encounters” was a sub category on the “darker side” for BDSM.

At this point I had been practicing BDSM but had no idea that other people were into it.  Until hearing that category and listening to all of the ads I had no idea I was not a freak and there was a whole community for folks into exactly the same “weirdness” I was into!  I was home.

I met my very best friend there as well as my first master (for technical reasons she was my first mistress as well as a bi-sexual lover for a short time)

My first Dom was not monogamous and let me play on the tele-personals system with other guys and other men and I was dating a lot, learning more about BDSM but more importantly I was having a lot of phone sex.  It was my first Dom who said, ”you aught to stop giving that away for free”  Which after thinking of all the guys who tried to hit on me when I was telemarketing during college and the late nights up getting freaky on the phone I decided to take his advice and here I am.

I went from working for a company to working for myself and am very proud of my success.

I guess the best way to sum it up is I belong to a community similar to blogster or any other for that matter.  This community consists of PSO’s world wide.  I have never met as many college educated people in one community.  MOST women in my biz have educations beyond high school. I would say at the very least 7out of ten.  They are the most talented group I have every known. They may be PSO’s but they are also nurses, lawyers, school teachers, accountants, graphic designers, writers, bankers, photographers and those are just a few of the back grounds I know for sure have changed to a career of debauchery J

Interesting post. Never ventured into the adult industry: as a voyeur or otherwise. So long as you're happy - who cares?[SMILE]
  • mmmhollywould said 1 years ago
I am happy but I do not think it is okay to allow people to continue to assume that women in the adult industry are stupid. Most of the time I am happy until, when having a healthy debate, and the other is at a loss for words and I get"well how valuable is a whore's opinion?"

There's many who assume what people are like based on their job or what they look like etc. On a personal level, it must be infuriating for you to be dismissed as unintelligent or worthless because of what you have chosen to do. As it goes, you strike me as an articulate, intelligent person. Their loss, not yours. The only sad thing about it is: the bigoted and narrow minded people who think like this seem to run both of our countries.

    All the best,

    Phil.

I'm curious about the Biblical studies..... You just don't care for what the Bible says or just what?? As I said...just curious.
  • mmmhollywould said 1 years ago
Actually as far as Biblical studies go I did not just anything. I do think the Bible is a quality piece of writing inspired by God but never the less written by man, compiled by man and changed by man. God did not tell us which books should be in the Bible man did. Our interpretation is done by man. Everything related to the Bible is flawed by man. You can use it a a general guide but not literally. Science was given to man in the form of knowledge but most Christian faiths still think masturbation is sinful, that homosexuality is a choice, that there is no way any form of evolution is possible though proven and that men and women have a different amount of ribs(many churches still teach this flawed bull).

If taking the Bible literally is so important it needs to be done as a whole not just on what neo-Christianity chooses. The whole face of Christianity would be changed.

Not to mention that much of the bible cannot be applied to modern times. You can try all you like to say if this is what this meant then this is what it means now but it doesn't. You have to consider the social / political climate of the ancient times and see why something was said then see if it applies.

I think the best way to be a good Christian is to lead a life that causes no one else pain and you have done right by God.

[SMILE][SMILE] Well it took you 2 months (almost) for answering but thanks! Better late than never!![SMILE][SMILE]

Ok...you have put way too much on here for me to even try to answer but I guess your answer left me wondering how you feel about a few things..... What about Jesus? Was he just a good man? Is he the Son of God? Did he die and rise from the dead? Does a person have to believe Jesus died for their sin in order to have everlasting life? Those issues are made quite clear in the Bible. So those are things that were made up or changed? How can you tell because I haven't figured out how to tell which parts are true and which are not. You know, which parts are from God and which ones are man made.

Thanks again for the "belated" answer.[SMILE][SMILE]

I am always a day late and a dollar short as of late. Just look at my poor neglected blog. I have two one naughty and one nice, this is the nice one and also a place where I can just let my hair down.

Anyway, I do believe in Jesus but on the same note I do not think other religions are false. I believe God is bigger than what people limit him too. Do you have to believe in Jesus to have everlasting life? Well I believe in Jesus and believe he was sent to earth for all the reasons you do but do I think a (non radical) Muslim, Jew or Hindi will burn in the fiery pits of hell? No.

When looking at the Bible I would hazard to say those things are true. Less of my problems are with the New Testament but with the old and where they come together on some issues.

I do not believe homosexuals are going to burn in hell or sex workers like me. I believe all of the statements concerning sex and homosexuality are fueled by the times. The politics and general atmosphere of the time it was written is reflected in that and do not believe it was Gods mandate but Mans. While those fears and prejudices might have worked then when sexually transmitted disease killed and procreation was a must they do not work now and I do not believe they were meant to. Not to mention once knowing the exact reason why also shows that.

I think I answered plus some.

I do not mind answering them

Yay, Holly's story! Generally people who catagorise(sp?) a group of people based on their jobs has something lacking upstairs to begin with. Hell how many NY Taxi drivers, have college educations and sometime much more. For the most part they are thought of as crazy and illiterate. It's just a form of bigotry by thiose that are so narrow they can't see to either side of their nose
