My Pictures

I got an e-mail here on blogster asking why I do not post more pictures claiming many reasons why I should, for instance, it would make me more a part of the community, suggesting I may be afraid of my parents seeing them, saying if I am going to be myself I need to be "all the way" which feels a bit like manipulation, finally suggesting that the reason I give for not doing so is not good enough.  I refuse to post private e-mails because I consider it in poor taste unless of course you make people aware that you will do this as there are many commentators who do just that. However when i get one like this I feel like I must answer it because if he feels this way others may to and I want to nip that in the bud!

So, every one here knows what I do for a living.  Part of this is selling pictures and video if you want to. I went through a long period of time when I would do neither and my business suffered. I had been a victim of small scale celebrity and recognized in public and the exchange(s) were not so nice. I have written about them here on blogster but cannot find them at the moment.  Just suffice to say one caller showed up at  my house and another recognized me at the grocery, thank God Johnny was there.

Further, my pictures, even clothed are all for sale,  Most clothed in fact because I do few nudes.  Periodically I put them up on my other blog of the same name as this one but I am very picky about what I share.  I figure if you folks want to see pictures you can go there or just be happy with my words. I do not use blogster for a photo album because my pictures are my commerce.

eastkyprogressive Reply

So, in reply to you comment eastkyprogressive, I will give you a link for each one you give me.  I am not against this war as many are.  Mind you I got into it on the tail end why it started really matters naught to me at this point but the fact that it is. However, if you think the reason this is an "illegal" war is because the United States did this without the blessing of the U.N. well then do not spout illegalities to me, I do not think there should be a U.N as it stands. Not to mention the U.N. sanctioned this war to start with.

We've known for several months that weapons of mass destruction have been found in Iraq.  Despite the mainstream media and the Democrats' lying to the contrary, several chemical weapons have been found that qualify as WMD.  But people have ignored the evidence...since it would blow a hole in their 'Bush Lied, people died' nonsense. To be fair, the Bush Administration has done little to correct the record on this issue.

Now a new report from the Pentagon sheds some light on just how many WMDs have been found, and it's a lot.  We're not just talking an old Sarin shell here and there.  No less than 500 chemical weapons have been found since 2003, according to a recently declassified defense department intelligence report.  The weapons are of the mustard gas and Sarin nerve gas variety...nasty stuff.

About pictures, I know where you're coming from. I have many friends and family in the entertainment industry. One cousin tours and records with some very well-known artists and has his own solo career. He was recently invited to a wedding by a friend of a friend he'd only met a couple times before. The groom asked him, on the spot, to perform with the band they'd hired for the reception. My cousin has always distinguished between personal life and business life and presumed he'd been invited as a friend since there was no performance contract discussed; he doesn't play for free unless it's discussed (and approved -- he's under professional management contract) beforehand. The groom was incensed when my cousin refused to play and asked him to leave the reception.

I don't think it's any different how you choose to run your business as how a grocer or insurance agent or anyone else would. The only difference is in product. Nobody would ask a grocer for free food or ask an insurance agent to bind coverage without payment (which is illegal in most states). It's your right to publish what you want and to charge what you want for whatever you want. It's also the right of others to either agree to your terms or reject them.

As far as the war goes, it's not illegal and it wasn't predicated on lies. We were in a ceasefire with Saddam for over a decade, during which time he was hostile and defiant. Since he was in violation of the ceasefire, the terms are resumption of hostilities because violation in and of itself is a hostile act. A lie is a willful distortion of the facts; I don't make a correlation between faulty intelligence assessments and lies. This war was based on the same intelligence other nations had from their own independent resources and which the other nations used to reach a consensus in the Security Council that (a) Saddam was in violation and (b) something needed to be done. The only difference of opinion on the matter was over timing: some wanted to continue with the same methods that hadn't worked, and others thought it was time to use a different approach.

I have no problem with people who oppose the war for whatever reason, but they need to be more responsible with their rhetoric. I remember the same kind of nonsense was said by the Right when President Clinton bombed Iraq (and the aspirin factory believed to have been involved with Al-Qaeda). Clinton was accused of "wagging the dog" over the timing between military action and his deposition over who was giving him BJs and where. In hindsight, I wonder how many Republicans wish Clinton had done more at that time -- I know a lot of right-wing Monday morning quarterbacks have had a lot to say about how many chances Clinton had to get bin Laden. Well, maybe he would've if he'd had bipartisan support for it instead of backbenchers more interested in scoring cheap political points than in defending national interests.

I voted for Clinton and if the time came around I would vote for him agian however I would never vote for his wife. I did not vote to vote democrat but the best candidates available at the time.

I also have this thing about women in power.....you can spank me if you want but my views really will not change on that. They are not etched in stone either.

I will say this , as an American, this is the first time I have felt this lack of unity in our nation.

I am for the war in Iraq and am for invading Iran as well. I think we need a base in the middle east and Iraq is as fine a place as any.

  • vladimir said 10 months ago
I didn't vote for Clinton, but it was yet another example (both times) of choosing between lesser of evils. Would I vote for HRC? Depends on the other choices. I don't have an objection to women in power as long as they're not fringe kooks. Some of the Republican candidates ("control freaks" is a better description) scare me more than Hillary does; fortunately they're less likely than she is to win the nomination. Regardless of who wins, I only see more polarization ahead. Both sides are to blame.

    Dear mmmmmmmmmmmHollyWould!
a few parts of Iran was invaded by Iraq once!
Iraqi governers then were mercanary of Reagan!
So no need to invade Iran once more!
For Iraq will be invaded once again by the new governers,
who were living in Iran as the clergies,
during Iran-Iraq war and a limited war between Talbanish Afghanistan and modernized Iran!!
Just remember or try to remember the raped ones in Susangerd,
in the western parts of Iran,
raped and buried live, by the expired government of Saddam,
while Bin Laden was being graduated ,
as an officer by Great Brtain in Afghanistan!
If you go to Arabia, the most of the buildings are made by Bin Laden's family!
    Bin Laden came from Yemen,
but most of his family are graduated and lived for more than two decades, near White House, not Arabia, not Iraq, not Iran, not Yemen, not Egypt, or even not Afghanistan!
    And you may know;Iran has 4 seasons just in one state;
    northern parts look like Europe,
    eastern looks like India,
western part is similar to Alpian hills,
south is the place of Arabs,
middle part is a desret, very simlar to Grand Canyon!!

Tell me please, where would be your choise as the base, in the invaded Iran??!
    Which race of Iranian people?!
    Europian faced or the Arabs,
    or Turkish ?!
Which one will be your governed ones,in the invaded Iran!!??

    Sweety!!
If you are going to find a base,
    I suggest you a place,
near Ryadh, next to Nevada, very near to Afghanistan!!

Holly, my buddy, you should have dug deeper on that article, following the links to the actual pentagon report. Because those found were 1) Pre-gulf war (i.e. probably gifts from Reagan during the Iraq-Iran conflict) and 2) Degraded.

    http://www.foxnews.com/projects/pdf/Iraq_WMD_Declassified.pdf

Other than that they admit they can't find any, but still believe they are there. pg 4. Are we going to attack every country we give weapons to? If so, we need a draft real soon.

Besides the acutal authorization for military force against Iraq had to do more with reconstituting nuclear activities and current productions, none of which was true.[WINK][HEART][SMILE]

War is almost always about resource acquistion, with excuses and cover stories given to quell the masses, and encourage recruitment.

Given our current technological ability to run cars on water-derived hydrogen-on-demand, there's no need for a base in Iraq, much less in Iran.

America's currency has lost 40% of its value in the four years since we went into Iraq.

Buying middle-east oil keeps the terrorists flush with cash and is just plan stupid, given the alternative which is to use biofuel and hydrogen. (This way, our oil can be used to make tires and plastic stuff we need)

I completely agree with you on Hillary Clinton...Cruella DeHillary is about as trustworthy as a man-hating sociopath could be...[TONGUE]

The bottom line is this: Nations that use bully tactics to dominate the world around them end up collapsing.

    Anybody feel history repeating itself?

Another way to phrase this is with a joke: How many control-freak politicians does it take to screw up a currency? As many as we have, of course. [LOL]

My Masters Degree is in Liberal Arts...half my credit hours were in Political Science and the other half were split between History and Language and Literature. I did a lot of research on what causes national governments to collapse. Argentina's currency collpased in the early 90's after decades of legalized bribery and excess military sector spending.

I live abroad now because it affords me the opportunity to be more free, to meet fascinating people from different cultures, and to live off the income from my investments while being out of the United States given the divide between the war camp and the anit-war camp and the violence that HAS been utilized by both sides to further their opposing causes.

I've paid my dues by working hard and smart, and I don't want my hard work to go down the drain when the chickens of bloated public and private debt continue to come home.

    My advice:

Read about people who are using water to run their cars on hydrogen.

Invest in natural resource investment opportunities that are investing in wind power, solar, and nuclear, as well as hydrogen.

Read Stephen Leeb's book, "The Coming Economic Collapse", which tells you how to profit from the inflationary reality of these times.

Saddam was America's "buddy" when he suited our desire to attack Iran through a proxy. Our founders were right when they warned us of unsavory alliances.

With renewable fuels at the core of our economy, we won't need to be a ruthless Empire.

Rome collapsed from her own internal corruption while barbarian hordes with far reduced technological prowess kicked its ass as the rest of the world breathed a collective sigh of relief to be rid of the control freaks who did the empire's bidding. Economic factors forced Rome to shrink her "controlling" grasp to a shadow of its former self.

History teaches us, but only if we stop betting on the office baseball play-off pool long enough to notice that all's not well in the homeland.

I recently wrote an article about empowerment that relates to this post.

    Take Care Holly. [SMILE][HEART]

Oh..I almost forgot...some of the crap that Saddam had but was not able to deliver in a truly regionally-threatening manner was sold to him by the US, France, and Russia....can anyone say three times stupid is just about as dumb as a box of corrupt political rocks????

If I had thought for moment that Saddam had the ability to project his worn-out bio and chem crap into the region, I'd have supported kicking the holy crap out of him.

I don't believe he did, but it ain't worth fighting over, which is why I am an expat and just plain happy as can be with that...[SMILE]

And even absent the stupid war thing, the homegrown American so-called Christian fundamentalist religious nutballs who were such rabid fans of the war have made a culture of repression and censorship a commonly-joked-about topic all around the world.

Maybe all the nutty Bush fans and their minions will volunteer to meet with Iran's Machmoud Ahm-in-need-of-a-new-brain and duke it out with sticks and rocks with his and bin Ladin's nutty wacko religionists...[TONGUE]

Besides, who would Jesus bomb, anyhow? [SAD][HUH]
  • mmmhollywould said 8 months ago
I just think it is important to "win" and leave but a base I still say is not a bad ideas.

What is amusing to me is when we went to war the public wanted exactly that and now we cry about it.
