Hello. I know it has been a long time and if I had any control over my absence I would apologize for it unfortunately I did not.
I just got out of the hospital on Friday and was in the hospital for a week, the first three days were spent in ICU. Not to mention I was very sick the entire week before admission. Needless to say my Christmas was not so wonderful other than to say I am out an alive.
I had sepsis as a result of an antibiotic resistant kidney infection.
I plan to be around more do hope to hear from everyone and hope you had a Happy Christmas.

I have missed you tooo! It is so hard to find my friends on the new blogster :(
The gram negs are some of the worst, because many of the conventional antibiotics aren't effective. All the cillins are nearly useless. Ecoli 0157 is one of the Gram negatives, and I am sure you have heard of that beast. But sepsis is usually pretty uniform, rather it is positive or negative organisms causing it. the damage is dependent upon how long it lasts or takes to solve the causataive agent..
Hi Holly! I've been around, but, as you know, the "New and Improved" Blogster DOES inhale quite frequently, it would seem. I can't even respond to your comment directly, what with all the "improvements" our wonderful Blogster misManagement Team has mustered up for our "benefit".
I've been dropping in to see how Team Blogster is doing ... ... ... not impressed ... why the hell they couldn't just leave well enough alone? ... they should have moved the original format and content to new and improved (higher-capacity and higher-speed) file servers, but they didn't bother asking me ...
I'm now in Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur). KL is the capitol of Malaysia. It is clean, modern and loves to party. I'm here in time for the Chinese New Year celebrations which started the day after I arrived and carry on for 15 days until the new moon turns into the full moon. The Chinese population of Malaysia is significant, along with Indians, and, of course native Malay people. Malaysian natives have features of Polynesian and Indian people ... quite unique ... everyone is friendly and EVERYBODY speaks English, and better than a lot of my fellow Texans, even.
Malaysia is living proof that Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists and Christians can and do live side-by-side in harmony and actually get along just fine.
They love to woo foreigners to live here with all kinds of tax inducements and the like.
While my wanderlust is still as lusty as ever, I am putting Malaysia, with its kick-ass scuba-diving and world-class sailing playground, high on my list of expat perches to step onto whenever I decide to get my sailboat and become a little less nomadic for a few months at a whack. The cost of living here is cheap.
I'm seriously thinking about tranferring all my articles and photos onto FaceBook, since Blogster seems to be going the way of Ford ... Found on the Road, Dead ... LOL
Gee, I wonder if the Blogster Management Team left jobs at FEMA or The Department of Homeland inSecurity to buy out Blogster's creator with their cush retirement accounts ... maybe not ... if that had been the case, there would probably be no Blogster at all ... we would have woken up one morning with all our work down the tubes and not so much as a "Thank You" ... kinda like when Uncle Stupid collects our tax coins and throws them into the hands of corrupt crony contractors in Iraq ... golly, Holly ... one would think we'ze gone the way of Rome ....
On the good news front, Barack Obama is kickin' Hillary's a$$ while she resorts to throwing a tantrum and axing her hapless campaign manager.
And, McCain is mopping up the floor with Catcher's Mitt Romney and Mike HucksterBee ... the Gods of Politics DO have a sharp and biting Sense of Humor, don't they ...
My vote's going to Obama when I go tomorrow to the US Embassy here in KL to cast my vote in the primaries, but I encourage everyone to vote, for heaven's sake ... we'ze got this "little" Federal Debt problem that the GOP mouthbreathers can't seem to accept responsibility for, even though it was their war-mongering that accounts for the lion's share of it ...
Alas, my cost of living while doing the nomad zone, is far less than if I were sharing in the misery of the conspicuously-consuming back in the land of the semi-free and the bravely-attempting-to-get-back-our-Democracy ... I plan to see my folks and my brother's family in Texas in Thanksgiving, AFTER the November 2nd Elections ... nine months to go ...
The least I can do after writing that little expose piece entitled "Protect Your Voting Rights", which appeared in www.virtualcitizens.com on September 27th, 2006, and which exposed the high-level Republican Party collusion to rig the 2004 federal elections, is to maintain my self-imposed exile status as my way of raging against the corrupt Machine ... while giving the philosophical finger to war-mongering-profiteers like King George and his Witless Court of Brainless and Corrupt Fascist Vote-Riggers ...
Plus, while the Tom Delays, Jack Abramhoffs, DICK-Head Chain-Yankers, and Dumbya Bushes of the world pray for political absolution as they craft their get-away mechanisms, I can take satisfaction in sipping on a cold beer after a nice long swim in a giant swimming pool, after enjoying a cheap and very professionally-executed Chinese therapeutic massage ...
