So this began as a reply to Queenie who I have always enjoyed but she ticked me off with her comment, obviously to me and anyone else who dares complain on Team’s blog, http://team.blogster.com/the-next-generation . I believe her comment was:

This is a FREE service, yet so many complain about the imperfections. Now if Blogster was charging $50 a month for the privelege of writing random stuff to total strangers, the complaining might be justified.
This isn't life or death (even though some of my posts sound like it), it's entertainment. Where else can you get unlimited entertainment opportunities for FREE?

Well I think I have blogged about this Free bullshit before, but you know what, I want to blog here so I will do it again. I want to blog here so I will complain. It has been ages since I blogged here about anything. Do I want to, sure.
First it was an issue of rights to the works we put on this site which they fixed, mostly and now it is a BASIC FUNCTIONALITY ISSUE. This is a hell of a lot more than if you can put up pretty colors or nice pictures. This is a function that makes your blog work properly and brings and keeps traffic on your article, blog and on their site. If you could give a shit less whether people read your blog or not than this would not matter to you but it does to me and I would guess 99.95% of people who take the time to write blogs and you can sure as shit bet I am sick of writing blogs about wanting to blog here but I have a couple hundred blogs written here before the screw ups and would like to be able to continue adding to them and not go to the trouble of coping and pasting them to another blog site.

I wanted to reply to your comment where I was sure you would read it but guess what that is the functionality issue I am referring to. I cannot do it! Since the reply is Broken. How long have you been with blogster? I have been here since 2004 I believe and the current owners have ruined the blogging experience for bloggers who have been here that long. Almost all of them have left or are posting duplicate posts here and somewhere else in hopes blogster improves.
Would you like to know how much money they would make if they charged 50.00 a year or a month to blog here, nothing. Why? Because there are at least 100 free blogging services that are working correctly and the problems are addressed immediately. Here is a good start to that list:

Wonder how long it takes them to fix a basic functionality issue that was first reported on: 2008/04/30 10:42:00? Lets face it will very shortly be two months and this goes unaddressed.
Now lets talk about free. How exactly do you think blogging companies
make their money? They make money from sponsors and affiliates.
Would you like to know what makes a sponsor choose a blog site? That
would be content. Now do you know what content is? That’s right
everything you me or Joe blow writes here. That is content. They
cannot even have a blogging site if the cannot at the very least keep their
bloggers happy.
Further I watched the amount of new articles, new content, become a trickle. This place is dying. Almost half the bloggers have left and the new ones are not writing. This place used to be booming with new articles! I have tried to stay here and intend to stay here until I get a notice saying server not found.
So when you say that “this is a free service” the only reason this service exists is because we use it.
Rant done.

Great post Holly!! I am one of those that left and really only come back to read a few choice blogs. Yes it has went downhill from what it used to be but one thing I do have to say is that the new owners did help me out a lot!!!! When I had someone "stalking" me (or digging to find out info on not only me but my family and then posting what they had found), the new owners stepped in and helped out a lot. now if they could only fix the problems that are going on now as fast as they worked to fix my situation.
what's broken? i'm new to the blogs and don't write articles so much as journal in this thing and test story ideas. but i definitely want feedback.
A-Family-Parted the reply feature does not work. Were you to click the reply button to my friend flowerpowerchick up there it should be then posted as a reply to her, appear below her comment and send her a notification that someone replied to her comment.
This function enables a person to easily follow conversations, dialogues and debates going on in a blog which not only makes the commentary readable but enables you to seamlessly insert your comment into that discussion. Instead it posts your reply as a new comment that makes it unreadable and you cannot follow the flow of the commentary and I do not know if it will even send a notification of reply which makes that person come back to my blog thus increasing traffic as well ass the time spent not only on my blog but at blogster.com.
I feel it is a function that can make or break not only a blog but a website.

Yes it is very frustrating!! I hardly ever come here anymore because of the bugs. My replies to others comments still don't work. It is dying here.
another good one is netpotion.com. That's where I've been for the most part since the new owners took over and the fresh wave of drama started. It's wonderful and the "owner is one of the bloggers, fellow bloggers contribute financially if they choose to or blog for free, and we work wonderfuly together.
