- Are all paraphilias perversions?
So the easy answer is pretty much a big, resounding, YES.
There are three different ways “professionals” classify paraphilias these being optional, preferred and exclusive paraphilias.
Since I am trying to keep this as personal as possible I will use an uncommon and not to dirty paraphilia as an example. Keep in mind though as I give you the example, apparently world-wide there is only one instance in which any medical professional has encountered this fetish though I get calls for it daily, humph go figure.
Sneezing.
So were sneezing an optional paraphilia the man might occasionally bring sneezing into his bedroom antics as a way to spice up life. With a preferred he may always do it in the bedroom though he can perform with out it and for exclusive, there is no way the fun parts are going to work if someone is not sneezing.
In all instances it is considered a paraphilia.
Keep in mind a paraphilia is a sexual attraction to something that is not usually considered sexual usually a concept act or object. A partilaism is a paraphilia where there is a particular interest in a body part sometimes with no regard to the person possessing the body part. A good example of this would be any man who likes to go to Hooters. They are not going there to meet the girl behind the boobs as with all paraphilias optional, preferred and exclusive still apply.
Perhaps the sad part of all of this is that anyone who walks into a psychologist/ psychiatrist’s office will be diagnosed with something and if over time these preferences do come up they will be added to the final diagnosis. I feel this is one of the things that make, for many, psychotherapy limiting. People do not want to walk into an office and have something they embrace frowned upon or worked on. I honestly believe this “judging” prevents a person who does in fact need help from getting the help they need because while I know this happens from going to school for it even a lay person knows if they admit to enjoying to be spanked that will just be added to the list of things that makes them f***ed up, even if they like it. Instead, could they be honest they may be able to talk about going from liking to be spanked to being beaten bloody which has effected their work because they cannot even sit up so have to stay home in bed. But instead they will hide all of it.
Kind of a sad state of affairs.

Do we have to call it a degree of perversion? I like to call myself a black belt in perversion. That makes me sound like my dick knows kung fu.
It's a black belt
Do you think the words perversion and deviance are synonymous?
Perversion, can mean several things, but most relevant to this, it means to turn away (from the normal accepted behaviors), and obviously, usually in terms of sexual behavior.
Deviance, is a term that refers to behaviors outside socially accepted norms, although not criminal. Once a deviant behavior is deemed to be harmful to society it becomes a crime.
So, if they are synonymous, then it seems like there should be degrees of perversions, just as their are degrees of deviance; minus of couse those perversions that are criminal, it seems like there should be some paraphilias that don't count as perversions, or vice-versa if you consider paraphilia as the extreme.
I guess if a majority of people felt a certain paraphilia was normal and acceptable, then maybe it shouldn't even be considered a paraphilia anymore.
By the way, Vorarephilia is hilarious, how could you be turned on by being eaten? That is so crazy its funny, and scary.
I'm a little confused..does the person have to sneeze just once for the person to get excited...or do they have to keep sneezing over and over...??? Seems to me that would be *pardon the pun* hard...
