So, I thought it was about time for this here blog. I think it is my leaving blogster blog. I hope it isn’t true but it sure feels that way. I am in a constant struggle with this decision because of the fact that I was on with the Original owner and shared this space with Eddie the second owner and have hung a year with this new team. It is hard to disown a child even if he is a serial killer because in spite of his blood lust he still came from your womb and you still love him well I feel very similar about blogster. Blogster has become much like something you love yet know you would be better off without.
You see though, this site has become one that could give a f*** about it’s users. I have watched them over and over again be ugly to their users, myself included, ignore their requests completely or tell them to hurry up and wait. I even remember the worst comment of all when some one complained “If you do not fix insert bug here I am gonna leave” Bogsters intelligent and witty reply was “Go ahead and leave then” What wonderful customer service. Bet that class was on a 19.99 infomercial. Well guess what Blogster team? They did!
Now see I am getting to the point now. I had a blog deleted with no notice before or after. In fact I noticed the three year old blog on one of my rare visits here, to my incarcerated but still loved blog. I mention that it was a three year old blog because I was shocked that in the late afternoon that it could possibly be number two on the most popular list. You see little over a year ago you had to fight hard and write well to even get on the most popular list while constantly interacting with your blogster peers. The fact that that blog of mine made it to the most popular shows just how low blogster has sunk in readership as well as how many good bloggers they have lost through an ass load of bugs and treating their members like shit.
No, I am not tooting my own horn but every single one of my blogs goes most popular when I deign to write one here which is hardly ever EXECPT to bitch. It is not because I am some wonderful human that every one loves but because there is NOTHING else to read. Everyone is gone even the new people are leaving. You can see that in just my buddy list!
Let me get back to my deleted blog, knowing this, one has to question why they deleted a blog that was approved by TWO other owners? Because it had links to two of my friends sites? NEITHER of them were pornographic? Because it had a call now button for one of my girls? Well that call now button will not work unless you do a bunch of other stuff, unless of course you are already a member and lets talk about that, NITEFLIRT, the platform I run my business from is NON-Pornographic. They cannot display pornographic images or they will lose their merchant account. Or, oH my god, was it the fully clothed photos of hot women? Perhaps you should be battling your real pornographic spam before worrying about a three year old blog?
I know you judge what is obscene and you have the right to delete what ever the hell you want but wouldn’t have been a little more user friendly to notify me and give me the opportunity to take down the fully clothed non pornographic links and pictures that were 2 years old before you ever bought blogster?
Speaking of that, You people are pretty damn cowardly on top of it all. Deleting Blogs blog! Blog was the second owner of blogster, Eddie. Pretty silly to be deleting inactive blogs because they are still content that bring readers anyway, but to delete his blog, of all blogs? Did you think all of the old timers who have left or remain on tenuous at best associations would not have noticed? Deleting him in spite of the fact that he did not blog here and never anything on his blog that could possibly offend you folks? What do you think he had to advertise greasy to get all of us to move there? Um, no he never said a word me and East ky, we found it on our own.
Finally now you tell us, concerning all the new bugs that you have been unable to fix for a year to wait for the new version. I hear d that one before. I cannot wait, can we hire orkin this time to fix it?
Not that you care what I or anyone else has to say!
One more bet, wanna bet this blog will be deleted?

I'm not taking that bet.
See you at Greasy.
lol
Don't go!
Greasy has become my new blog home. I am hardly ever on here. I do check in from time to time. It is the same ole same just on a different day.

Jenn
I think they deleted blogs blog because he can actually run a WORKING blog site! Jelousy!
I think you hit the nail on the head there Holly. I agree with you, feel the same way. That is just plain tacky and mean.
I figure with the way bloggers here are treated, that is the only answer. You care to wager on if they delete this blog or just this article?
I wouldn't be surprised if they delete yours, mine or any of the rest of us that have moved over to greasy. I think it could go either way, Maybe this article maybe the whole blog and probably some of the rest of of us who do the bulk of our blogging over at greasy. The thing about it is I didn't read in their TOS that you could only blog on *their site*. LOL Maybe that changed too with the *new and improved blogster*.
holy crap....does it really say you can only blog on their site?
Not that I know of. I was just popping off saying that would be about right for them to have that included in their *new and improved* blogster. What is it they call it? The Next Generation.

LOL
lets see how many cosmic bugs are in the next generation.......you know you can call me ........
Hehehe I have no idea. I think it would be like counting the stars in the sky. Lol Call you?
Not the pay way...the free way...well sorta fre if you have free long distence..................hell maybe they will think I am soliciting you!
Hehehe you are too funny. Tonight?
If I ever get off the phone just remeber if they call , I will only have time to say , "I got a call" then i will be gone...............not rude just want the almighty $
Ok, I don't have your ###.
now you do!

I totally can agree with your post! Deleting Eddie....hows that possible.
crazy stuff! I am at Greasy, and 3 other blog sites, I got over the crap here long ago, I just miss the people from time to time
Thanks Holly!!! It was neat getting to talk to you last night!!

More bugs....it won't let me send you an email or reply to yours....curiosity, did you email her back with the post you put on my blog?
This is the lamest blog site I have ever seen. I have blogs everywhere but chose this one for the anonymity factor. So, shall I move on? This place seems pretty lame.
Hey guys,
I don't know what the circumstances were surrounding the decision and/or accident that resulted in the deletion of Edie's blog, or yours mmmhollywould. I am ignorant there
.
However awkward the situation, though, I can assure you guys that there is no conspiracy to delete nay-sayers or anything of that sort -- Blogster is based in the US, and we've all been taught from birth that the free speech is extremely important to any community
. You like Greasy better? Well, by all means, tell us why -- we're working hard on the new Blogster, and now is the time to give us tips for improvement!
Cheeris,
Siggy
I have done just that but if you go and read in the "teams" blog the last time I asked them to fix this "functionality" issue I was told to wait two months, in spite of the fact that this effects everyone’s blogging experience negatively add to that this time last year we were told to how wonderful this current buggy platform would be and have had to wait a year already for that to be fixed.
I have posted this bug in the list and was told it would be ignored until ”blogster the next generation” come out when it effects the basic function traffic and readability of a blog.
I already had an article deleted a three year old article and it was no mistake.
Blogster DOES not value its bloggers and you can tell by the flippant remarks made by the “team” to users.
Why do people prefer greasy? Your blogs are never ever deleted without notice. Bloggers are never treated with anything but the utmost respect even when their behavior is not deserving of it, this is called customer service, you are not “warned” against adult topics or controversial ones and the management does not intervene thus taking one side or another, it is fast, and finally and this biggest one of all it ALWAYS works. One man, not a team of people keep it working because the code and scripts are stable as blogster were before they changed everything.
Now you may not see a lot of bitching about his blog being deleted here but you better believe all of the former and many current members here are ones are bitching over there about how petty the deletion of Blog’s blog was.
The worst part is this rudeness to bloggers, nonchalant attitude has ruined a wonderful thing.
I even remember the worst comment of all when some one complained “If you do not fix insert bug here I am gonna leave” Blogsters intelligent and witty reply was “Go ahead and leave then”
The sad fact is they all did or are double posting here and there.
It really suck and all I asked was that they fix this damn reply button.
Siggy,
By accident i read your comment here. You ask us to tell why greasy is better. Well I had my share in commenting about the new blogster for some time ago. There werent replies on question on the Team-page. All kind of questions were ignored. Standard things like replies shown NOT under the comments on which you reply arent taken serious. I told in a blog here I felt unhappy to make the decision to move to greasy. Blogster gave me a lot of new friends so it really felt sh#t to leave here. It even felt like cheating. I still have problems with loading pages on blogster now and then. Blogs set to privacy isnt my subject. Why blogging then. Its weird to see a post as a new entrance here on the main page and when you click on it you cant read it. Thats frustrating. So dont list privacy blogs. Finally, deleting Eddie's blog here.... Why? He didnt do anything wrong here. He once built what you break down now (sorry to say that but I still dont think there is any improvement here so far after the big "problematic" mighration. Almost all my buddies here left and just login to read some bloggers who still post here).
In your last line you say: NOW its time to give us tips. Just read the "team-page" . There are plenty of tips ( just start reading from January 20 there. A lot of tips still arent fixed) and they are already given a lot of times, so I think the basic needs need to be fixed real soon or a lot of bloggers will leave as well (btw some of them I may hope will stay here)
Robin
I also replied but I now see a lot of my reply is in yours (had not seen you replied too) and yes the reply button really sucks.....
Now I really wish they would read and reply
I got sick of the arrogance of the Blogster owners about a year ago. And their privacy policy REALLY made me mad! If I take the time to write something, I want it to be mine! I don't want others "owning" it and even making money off it!
This is supposed to be fun. If it's not fun here, there are other free blogging sites! That why you and me and WHOLE BUNCH of other ex-blogster-ites have jumped ship and gone to THE OTHER blogsite.
I don't miss blogster at all.
The loss for blogster is a great one :(
Heh...."most popular" entires have to be well written? That's a laugh. The "most popular" segment is the same thing as it is in high school: a popularity contest. I've seen articles that were on that list that were poorly written diatribes that grabbed people because of the title. I've had a few pop up there, too, and never cared.
As for anything else, I'm replying to this, so I'd say your blog is still here. If you're so worried about this, just create a mirror blog if you haven't already. If anything here gets deleted, you're just a copy and paste away from putting it back. Heck, if your blog is that important to you, save it as a Word document or something on your hard drive and back it up to CD/DVD/flash drive.
Personally, I don't have a problem yet. I've had more problems with users wanting to delete stuff they didn't agree with and engaging in the irony of using Blogster to complain about Blogster. Let it go or let go. If you'd be happier elsewhere, go. And, despite how this sounds, it's really not against you, but is actually advice. I don't see why you keep putting yourself through something you consider irritating when there ARE other options available. I know I don't.
And I was actually on one blog before that DID demand you don't copy from another blog of your own. It would actually send out a bot to check if there was another article with the same title that you picked at other blog sites. At least Blogster hasn't gone that far.
You sit here and pass judgment calls about the most popular blogs when you were not even here when this community was exactly that, a community. It was people in the community who were respected, prolific and intelligent with something to say who ended up on the most popular list not it is just drivel.
My point in saying that particular blog made it to the most popular list was NOT to say I was popular by any stretch, or to toot my own horn. My point was that the blog was three years old and maybe one person visited it and that was all it took to make it the most popular, a handful of visits. I remember when it took a couple hundred to several hundred here to make them the most popular. Yours were not up there when this was the case and mine were close to the bottom of the top fifty which was always on the front page.
You may never have cared where your blog was but most people write blogs to be read, go figure.
Mirror blogs, if you know anything about SEO are not spidered by Google which is why I do not do it. Anything I write here will not be seen on one of my other blogs and vice versa.
As far as saving it, I have all of my articles on a old hard drive and all of my current ones saved. I do that but should not have too. I do not think it was deleted by accident.
Users at blogster need to use the tools they have at hand if they do not want to deal with you delete comment, ignore, make their blog private, block you are grow the f*** up and deal with it. There is no need for mommy and daddy blogster.
Glad you would like to see me leave blogster because the last year here has royally sucked and I have the nerve to complain about it. I thought you were a conservative and believed in standing up for yourself and not being walked all over? A lot of people here have put a lot of time and effort into their blogs and do not want to see them shit all over because of bugs deletion, censorship or what have you.
As far as recommending that I or anyone else who does not like it leave blogster and get other blogs well I have nine other blogs and the trend for long time bloggers here at blogster has been to leave for other sites. What is it do want a captive audience? I do not get why you would want me or anyone else to do that?
As to why I do stay and complain? I still hope things change around here and my complaining has brought good change in the name of free speech and intellectual property rights. I am glad you are concerned about blogster irritating me but it is good to have when I am in an irritable mood I can vent that frustration into something productive.
Finally I did not copy and paste my old blog it was deleted by the powers that be and were I to put it up again the same would happen so why bother. Instead I addressed the issues as to WHY it was deleted.
Why don't people ever think?
"You sit here and pass judgment calls about the most popular blogs when you were not even here when this community..."
Try reading, holly. I stated my opinion that a blog didn't have to be 'well-written' in order to be on that list, the way you claimed when you said "You see little over a year ago you had to fight hard and write well to even get on the most popular list while constantly interacting with your blogster peers." I said I saw plenty on that list that weren't well-written. What about that makes you think I was commenting on the entire history of Blogster?
"It was people in the community who were respected, prolific and intelligent with something to say who ended up on the most popular list not it is just drivel."
Oh please....if people who were conservative were constantly up there and you disagreed with them, you'd say the entire list was "homophobic drivel" popularized by ignorant bigots.
"Yours were not up there when this was the case and mine were close to the bottom of the top fifty which was always on the front page."
So? Twitter is popular, too, but I really don't care to read "just got up....looks like rain today.....oh look, my phone's almost out of juice....better get to work...." endlessly.
"You may never have cared where your blog was but most people write blogs to be read, go figure."
Actually, I'm smart enough to realize that "popularity" doesn't equate with "quality" automatically. If Blogster were full of liberals reading each other's posts, of course they would be the "most popular" even if the lowest in quality. Reverse it to conservaties and it could be the same. Big whoop. Popularity as a measure of quality is a joke on a site like this.
"Anything I write here will not be seen on one of my other blogs and vice versa."
Ever hear of copy and paste? It's actually pretty easy, and is what I meant by "mirroring" a blog, and you don't need to be a programmer to do it.
"Glad you would like to see me leave blogster because the last year here has royally sucked and I have the nerve to complain about it. I thought you were a conservative and believed in standing up for yourself and not being walked all over?"
Another misconception. When did I say I wanted you to leave? All I said was that if you were so unhappy, why stay? I was ASKING A QUESTION. And yes, if I felt Blogster were walking all over me, I'd dump them in favor of another site. It's free, what do I care? If I think a business is overcharging me, I shop somewhere else. I don't stand in the store and whine about how much the prices are.
"A lot of people here have put a lot of time and effort into their blogs and do not want to see them shit all over because of bugs deletion, censorship or what have you."
And that's why you get an account at another blog site, type up your blog post at one of them, copy it, open the other blog site, paste the article into it, and now you have a "mirrored" blog where one will exist if something happens to the other.
"As far as recommending that I or anyone else who does not like it leave blogster and get other blogs well I have nine other blogs and the trend for long time bloggers here at blogster has been to leave for other sites. What is it do want a captive audience? I do not get why you would want me or anyone else to do that?"
Read what I said about shopping elsewhere. I don't care if you want to "stand in the store and whine," but I do question why you'd want to do it. I don't know how much plainer I can be. I am actually asking a question.
"As to why I do stay and complain? I still hope things change around here and my complaining has brought good change in the name of free speech and intellectual property rights."
Then mirror your blog and concentrate on the other while checking in here to see if things get "better" in your opinion. I don't see the difficulty.
