I must say that I used to date on-line exclusively.
I have a couple of horror stories like the guy who said he was 6'1 and I had to look down at him, needless to say that was almost a Friday night ruined due to my midget phobia however the evening was saved when I went back online and replaced him.
The only two dating sites I ever had any luck with were alt.com and lavalife(sort of). So Blog if you wanna visit the freakier side of life defiantly try alt.com. I also had much luck with a local tele-personals type service.
Though the best places I found to meet people are places of interest to you like here on Blogster. If you play multi-player games, special interest chat rooms artists. writers, techno-geeks, webmasters, gamers, role-players, ) These places are full of real people that already like what you do. It may not be instant gratification and may require more time but it is usually well worth it.
My gaming experience with half life was so awesome it was like I lived a charmed life. I met so many wonderful people and took some of those friendships and more into the real world. Hell, I even wrote a book about it(well it is almost done)
I do not honestly think that dating sites really work in the end unless they are very loose and let you choose by photo or what have you.
And Blog, we never started with pictures and only midget man was ever disappointed. I was disappointed a lot in the way many of these people looked however but that may be due tothe fact that until two years ago I never date anyone youngest than 20 years my senior!
